About Lorraine

Watercolour and acrylic artist Lorraine Jacobs has been married to Lyndsay since 1966. Son Mike is an engineering business consultant in Australia and daughter Phillippa has a successful graphic design business in Christchurch, New Zealand.

A former teacher with a gift for helping 'special needs' children, teens and adults, Lorraine and Lyndsay both retired early from teaching to take up a global networking executive position for her denomination. For twelve years from 1993 she travelled extensively from their work base in the USA. During that period Lorraine's paintings were commissioned and bought by many regular and new clients all around the United States, Australia, Canada and New Zealand. She exhibited regularly and won several prestigious awards.

Now happily settled back in New Zealand, Lorraine and Lyndsay have established a new home in the village of Kirwee, west of Christchurch, with a studio and gallery on site. Lorraine's paintings have been in a number of local exhibitions and galleries in Sumner, Darfield, West Melton, and Dunedin. Her paintings hang in corporate offices, public buildings and private homes both locally and overseas in the USA, Canada, the UK, and Australia.
